Business History
Our story began in 2018, when our founder, Shamir Satar, along with a small team of technicians, embarked on a journey through small towns in Southern Africa to understand how the fuel retail market behaved.
For over three months, he traveled nearly 5,000 km by road to visit fuel pumps and retailers in various cities across several countries, in a tireless quest to understand the supply and demand process in these regions.
Upon returning from his trip, he had collected enough data to organize a business focused on fuel retail.

In March 2019, Orchid Energy was officially registered, and its office opened in Dubai. In May of the same year, offices were opened in Maputo and Dar es Salaam.
In July of this year, it closed its first fuel supply contract in Mozambique.
